# Slop TV by Spacefast: an endless AI-generated TV channel

Anyone can make TV now. Nobody has stopped them.

Slop TV is a live television channel made of AI-generated clips. It plays at https://slop-tv.view.fast/ in any browser, phones included. There is no app, no account and no remote. Everyone tuned in watches the same thing at the same time, all day, like television did before it learned your name.

## How it works

1. **Request.** A viewer types an idea for fifteen seconds of TV, up to 400 characters, one every 30 seconds. Or they phone it in.
2. **Check.** The standards desk, a language model with a rulebook, reads every request and turns away anything past PG-13. No real people, no real brands, no famous characters.
3. **Brief.** The desk writes the idea up as a scene from some corner of television and gives it an on-air title.
4. **Render.** A video model on fal.ai renders fifteen seconds of it. A daily budget caps how many.
5. **Air.** A new clip jumps the line and airs right after whatever is on. Everyone sees it at the same moment. When requests pile up, the most-voted goes first.
6. **Break.** A few times an hour: a bumper, one ad, a bumper. The ads are Spacefast's own. None are for sale.

Clips stay in rotation and in the Gallery for good, unless they are pulled.

## What you can do

- **Watch live:** https://slop-tv.view.fast/
- **Request a clip:** type an idea in the request line under the set.
- **Phone or text the request line:** +1 412-557-4880 (US). Harlan, the night switchboard operator, takes the request. Calls are recorded.
- **Browse the Gallery:** https://slop-tv.view.fast/guide/ has everything that aired, newest first, with the day's top ten.
- **Share a clip:** every clip has its own page at `https://slop-tv.view.fast/c/<clip id>`, with a preview that unfurls in chat apps.
- **React:** laugh, wow, love or applaud whatever is on.

## Who makes it

Slop TV is an experiment by Adam Pickering, a product designer at Automattic. It runs on [Spacefast](https://spacefast.com/), Automattic's publishing platform for whatever your agent makes. The pages, the API and the database all live in one Spacefast Space, and Spacefast sponsors the channel. Video models are served by [fal.ai](https://fal.ai/).
