Description

Spacefast Slop TV is AI-generated television. Each channel plays the same thing for everyone tuned to it, all day, like television did before it learned your name.

Viewers type what they want to see. The standards desk checks each request and turns it into a brief, a video model renders fifteen seconds, and it airs as soon as it's made. A few times an hour there is an ad break. The ads are not for sale.

Slop TV runs on Spacefast, Automattic's publishing platform for whatever your agent makes. The pages, the API and the database all live in one Spacefast space, and Spacefast sponsors the channel.

Channels

One. Channel 07, Slop TV, airs whatever viewers ask for.

How it works
  1. Request. A viewer types an idea, up to 400 characters, one every 30 seconds.
  2. Check. The standards desk reads it and turns away anything past PG-13.
  3. Brief. The desk writes it up as a scene from any corner of television, and the worn tape goes on as it airs.
  4. Render. fal.ai renders fifteen seconds. A daily budget caps how many.
  5. Air. A new request jumps the line and airs after whatever is on. Everyone sees it at the same moment. If requests pile up, the most-voted goes first.
  6. Break. A few times an hour: a bumper, one ad, a bumper.
Features
  • Live channels, each the same for everyone tuned in
  • A request line, with votes when it's busy
  • A gallery of everything that aired
  • Ad breaks: one house ad, nothing paid
  • Reactions on whatever is on
  • A share link for every clip
  • A full-screen mode, edge to edge
House rules
Everything on the channel is PG-13. The standards desk turns away anything stronger before it reaches the studio, and fal.ai runs its own safety check on every render. No real people, no real brands, no famous characters. The one ad follows the same rules.
Under the hood
Static HTML, CSS and JavaScript. One catch-all Spacefast Function for the API and a MySQL-backed database. Viewers' own visits keep the schedule filled and collect finished renders. No framework, no build step.
Assets

The Spacefast name and wordmark belong to Automattic. Recoleta is licensed, not ours to hand out.

A word from Spacefast

The house ad. It airs in the breaks between programmes. Nobody paid for it.
